Track Houston Youth Track Club Continues Operations as Normal and Engages Legal Counsel to Handle Matters Concerning Avery Shepherd
Sugar Land, TX – Track Houston Youth Track Club continues to operate as normal since its founding in 1989. The Board of Directors of Track Houston Youth Track Club has engaged legal counsel to handle the issues arising from parent member, Mr. Avery Shepherd.
Mr. Shepherd has taken a number of steps to disparage our organization, made false accusations and attempted to hinder the Club’s operations. However, the Board has given its legal counsel full permission to address all matters concerning Mr. Shepherd. Our legal counsel has been in contact with both USATF and AAU, and our standing with these organizations remain intact. Our legal counsel also has taken further steps to legally challenge Mr. Shepherd’s actions and protect our organization’s name and integrity.
Track Houston Youth Track Club is continuing to operate as normal and usual. Training and practices will continue. The Club will continue to register and compete in USATF and AAU-sanctioned track and field events and meets. Nothing has or will change the Club’s operations as a result of Mr. Shepherd’s actions. The Club continues to operate as unincorporated, non-profit association as allowed under the laws of the state of Texas. We will continue to train and assist young people ages 6-18 who are interested in improving their physical fitness, mental stamina, and teamwork skills through organized track and field competition as envisioned by our founders. All of our current programs, activities and events, including SAT preparation, will continue to operate as normal and usual.
